Can someone tell me, scientifically, why consuming only fat-free foods is a bad idea? I need to get this through to a friend, and simply saying, "Fat is our main source of energy," doesn't seem to work. Thank you!!

Actually for most people carbohydrates are the main source of energy. Think about olive oil or avocados they have healthy fats which we need to maintain our health

When food manufacturer cut the fat, they often replace it with extra sugar to make the food more palatable (pleasant to taste), particularly in low-fat cookies and baked goods. They also may add thickening agents to mimic the texture of fats.
