OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Consider the graph of the cosine function. a) Find the period and amplitude of the cosine function. b) At what values of Ө for 0≤Ө≤π/2 do the maximum value(s), minimum value(s), and zeroes occur?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Would the period be \(\Large\frac{\pi}{3}\) and the amplitude be 2?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I'm not quite sure what the period is actually....

OpenStudy (a1234):

I agree with your amplitude. The period is the distance between two points that are the same (e.g. maximum to maximum).

OpenStudy (a1234):

I don't think it's pi/3.

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I know that part lol I just noticed it gives it to us in part b.

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

\[\frac{\pi}{2}\]

OpenStudy (a1234):

I agree.

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I'm not sure about part b though. Any thoughts on how I figure it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

max occurs at 0 and pi/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

min: pi/4

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I have to show my work...it's a portfolio item I'm working on :/

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

How do I find that?
