I don't have wifi and I'm at the library and my time is about to run out in 10 minutes. please help asap!!!

What chemical is reduced in the following reaction:
Mg + 2HCl → MgCl2 + H2

I thought H goes from +1 to zero in this reaction, meaning a GAIN of electrons. Therefore a reduction. Would that make the answer HCl???
