someone please help! I need to graduate :( The two cones are similar. Find the surface area of the larger cone. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth A. 810.28mm^2 B 847.80mm^2 C 868.30mm^2 D 886.25mm^2
@Howard-Wolowitz @skullpatrol can anyone smart help! please
@johnweldon1993 can you help? :D
? ;o
Maybe :P Lol so it's like the last one, set up a proportion to solve for the radius of the larger cone using slant heights and radius \[\large \frac{SH_{bigger}}{R_{Bigger}} = \frac{SH_{smaller}}{R_{smaller}}\] \[\large \frac{13.8}{x} = \frac{4.6}{3.7}\] Solving for 'x' we get \[\large x = \frac{13.8 \times 3.7}{4.6} = 11cm\] So now we have the radius of the bigger one And now the surface area is \[\large SA = \pi r^2 + \pi rl\] So for you we have \[\large SA = \pi (11.1cm)^2 + (\pi \times 11.1m \times 13.8cm) = ?\]
Lol sorry I was typing ;P And also, I see the answer choices are in mm?? that's odd because the measurements are in cm I'm gonna assume a typo :) *also, I messed up and put 'm' somewhere and it should be 'cm' sorry :P
C? THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Perfect :)
