It is inevitable. Bias cannot be removed, it can only be reduced. Unbiased is non-existent.

If I have a viewpoint A, and Chibi has viewpoint B. And I have my friends backing me up, and Chibi has his friends.

Even if the moderator says that Chibi won [he always does tho] then it will start a conflict. My friends and his friends will fight and argue. And it will just get ugly.

We barely have enough mods to keep up with the Music section and soo many people get away with breaking the CoC. Forget the music section, moderators aren't even able to keep up with reports. I reported something like a week ago, they totally skipped the report. It takes me a few days of continuously reporting something to get some serious violations noticed by a moderator... Debate would be another place for petty arguments and even some good conversations.

What subjects would be allowed? We would have to make new rules for such a subject.

Questions like, should I go out with X or Y will pop up. Other questions such as, what do you think about somebody blahblah will be posted...

You can practice your debate skills on pretty much any newspaper site. Just go to an article, read it, comment your point of view with supporting evidence. People will either agree with your point of view and back it up or disagree with your view and contradict it with their own supporting evidence. When they disagree, you reply back refuting their post.
