we know that angle BDC is 40 degrees
we can use this to find arc BC using the inscribed angle theorem
2*(angle BDC) = arc BC
2*40 = arc BC
arc BC = 80 degrees
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
(arc AB) + (arc BC) + (arc CD) + (arc AD) = 360
120 + 80 + 110 + x = 360
solve for x to get x = ???
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so x = 1.161 approx?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait i"m confused so would that be the measure of measure 1?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
120 + 80 + 110 + x = 360
310 + x = 360
x = 360 - 310
x = 50 degrees
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
so arc AD is 50 degrees
OpenStudy (anonymous):
omg sorry i did it wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i divided instead of subtracted
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
use the inscribed angle theorem to get
angle 1 = (1/2)*(arc AD)
angle 1 = (1/2)*(50)
angle 1 = 25 degrees

ohhhhh okay that makes sense now. thank you so much I appreciate it!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
if you don't mind, would you help me figure out this one?
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
what is angle BAC? are you able to determine that value?
