jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Suggestion: To have like a scale thing that tells users how many medals needed to move on to the next SS.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Pro: Will help users better understand SS and help them reduce the question on how to increase SS faster. Con: Will cause alot of users to medal spam and knowing how much is needed will do how much needed to move on.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

@Preetha @amistre64 @♪Chibiterasu

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Yeah I think the con HEAVILY outweighs the pro.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Hmm think so to but ehh

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

It will say like 10000 more from 99 to 100 haa

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Someone actually suggested this about a month ago, I'm just really tired so I don't feel like looking for it.

OpenStudy (♪chibiterasu):

Lol yeah.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

oh they did

OpenStudy (elonasushchik):

i luv that idea @jagr2713

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Yeah so then people can medal spam themselves

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Thats my con.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Right so how would knowing how many more medal you need benifit OS? Also medals are not money...we dont need em :P yet we keep them as rewards for help. Remeber not everything is bout medals. MEDAL MEDAL MEDALS at the end they mean a simple thank you.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

And i bleive there is a way to do it but im not gonna go in detail about that...

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

Well some user dont see how we see medals. They think without medals then this site wouldnt of been here. They need gaming accessories or points etc to keep them moving and to get the highest points or in our case medals.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Which is why this is not needed if they knew how many they needed they would be spamming like crazy and besides the dev t eam has alot atm this isnt a priority atm but you can always but it in the suggestion box :) http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/52e0836ee4b0942cc9de3920

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

@jagr2713 you read my mind. Today went from 93 to 94 SS and I was wondering how much medals, fans, etc. I would need to get to 95SS.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Because SS is not dependent on medals there is no scale that would work.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

From the assorted things posted by developers, the changes in your SS relate to the SS of everyone else on the system, medals, times suspended, times warned, questions asked, questions closed, questions answered, number of people that answer a question you asked, fans, chat participation, testimonials, days that you log on, time since last logon, and I probably forgot a few.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

@e.mccormick tso uses something that can see how many points you need to get to the next number....its not medals but points, its actually accurate xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TSO. You will tell me what you use. ._. >:) @TheSmartOne

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

It is actually not accurate, but the error rate is sort of flat thanks to the outliers. See, with Sat. setting the 100 and being so disproportionate to 99.9+% of the users, the equations tend to flatten a bit.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Like what E.mcc said, it's all a scale. Everyone will then be making post saying, "It told me I needed to get 50 more medals to get to 75SS yesterday. But today it says I need to get 65...?" It's all a relative scale, one day you may need x more medals and fans to get it, but if people pass you up, then you'll need y more whatnot stuff. It all depends, the SS is not laid in stone. It's put in sand, and it keeps flying away with the wind ;P (I tried lel) As long as Satellite increases in medals and whatnot, he'll be raising the bar for getting the 100SS ;P
