Suggestion: the ability to delete questions.

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

you can close questions and if you do not want it to be searchable you can simply delete all the comments you made and edit the question to just a .

OpenStudy (callisto):

Though, editing the question is not recommended as some others may also want to learn from your question as well.

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

1) You cant delete a question unless you are a mod because we want them for fututre refrence people look through previous posts to see what help they can get. 2) If people had the ability to do so im sure they would abuse the privilege if deleting questions actually existed for users....and you did not specify if you can delete only your question or if this is a suggestion to delete anyones questions. 3) Why would you want to delete questions? The medals that people earned on the post would all be gone...im sure they wouldnt be too happy about that. 4) How does deleting questions benifit Openstudy? Why is this important?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I assume he meant to delete his own questions. :P @kidrah69

OpenStudy (rainbow_dashie):

Ambassadors should be able to tho.

OpenStudy (rainbow_dashie):

i feel like TSO is making latex XD

Hi, there. There used to be a feature where the asker could delete their own question in the past. However, this was abused really badly. Users would cheat on tests and then delete their posts so they could not get caught as easily. Users would violate the CoC and TaC and then delete their own posts. This would make it harder on moderators to have people breaking the rules and then deleting the mess they made. However, if you need a post to be deleted, then if it is your post, kindly message a moderator to delete it for you. Remember, they do not have to delete it just because you said to. If they don't delete the post, you might as well start posting vlugarities on the post and then tell the moderator to come. They'll delete it for you and give you a nice suspension with it. Just remember, there really is no reason to delete a post unless the post is spam by itself. And deleting questions that you have asked could be helpful to future people who search up the same thing. So sometimes deleting the post you made is harmful as other people could have benefitted from them if you didn't delete it. Also remember, if you want a moderator to delete all your questions asked or answered, they will not do it as that is too much work on them and they have a lot of reports to go get through. Thanks for asking your question, and have a great day :p

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Rainbow_dashie Ambassadors should be able to tho. \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) When someone talks about ambassadors having powers the whole world goes crazy. Ambassadors are not meant to have powers.

OpenStudy (ashsmashum1290):

to close questions you have to be a mod or a admin

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Editing out the content of your own post is considered a violation of the rules. If you are posting things that you should not be posting, then dont post them.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Deleted content is not deleted, it just gets removed from the public eye and is still on record in our databases.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

here is a sample of the most recent deleting/editing activities

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Amistre shares so much with the common user xD ;)
