Am I correct here with 1.B and 2. C
yes
For the first question, all the answer choices have the same real root -3. the first 3 choices show 2 complex roots. remember, if you have complex roots (for a real polynomial.. which you have here) the roots *must be* complex conjugates. only choice B shows a complex conjugate pair. so either B or D. to rule out D, test one of the values: 2. 2^3 -5 * 2^2- 4*2 + 60 = 40 which is not 0. so that leaves only B as an answer
awesome, I got that one :)
for the second question, you want the 4 x values where the red and blue curves meet. they do not intersect at x=0
alright i got it wrong then
can you pick the correct choice?
so if yon' wont the 4x values then..... :|dw:1431609405764:dw|
right
the circles are the (x,y) points where the curves cross. the solution is just the x value of each pair. |dw:1431609622106:dw|
