It would be pretty hard to go up to someone and say "Hey I want to kill myself". Online where they feel safer is a big reason why stuff like this happens. The internet has alot of people who they know feel the same way. So that's why its better to be safe than sorry.

You may think so, and this may be the case at most times. But what if they weren't kidding. You may think its stupid to be suicideish. But its not thier faults most of the time.Depression is not something you want. Its not something you ask for. It creeps up on your mind making you feel worse by the day. But at least you tried. At least you did somthing. At least you cried out for help...

Such thoughts are what causes them to consider bad thoughts in the first place
*no one would care if I died*
*it is not like I am contributing anything to this world anyways*
*sure my mom might cry a little, but they'll move on*
or even *my parents wouldn't care, they're arguing to much between themselves to ever notice me*

as someone who has considered my ... options before, suicide is not a joke
we have all had bad days and bad thoughts in our lives

Sometimes I have a day where it's one of the best in my life and then the next day I want the day to end so quickly...it's basically the hormonal changes of people starting at age 13. My point is, when some people think negatively, then yes, their mood will be affected by it. So think positive! There's no harm with that. I have been suicidal before. It wasn't worth the trouble.

Ok something i want to point out....
1) The user who said they are in the hospital because of another user....wheres the proof? IS she trying to get attention?
2) If someone did say something to her she had the option to X out OS tab or simply leave the chat
3) Yes, chats are dramatic....but there are ways to avoid them and thats to stay out of them.
4) The user who is (supposedly) in the hospital could've pmed a mod

You think it's just because of their appearance or their qualities??? Suicide isn't like that, honey. It's a serious matter and it is not "selfish". People live hard lives and sometimes nothing good ever happens to them or they simply think they are not useful in this world. If they don't think about how their friends or family feel, it's because those "friends" and "family" aren't supportive or don't bother checking up on them to see how they are feeling. Bringing death onto yourself isn't selfish, it's sad and you should feel bad for people like that.

The chats are just becoming too...emotional. It's been abused too many times too. If there are going to be "deaths" from the results of chats then I would be glad if it were removed entirely from the site. If you want to chat, take it somewhere else. There are literally hundreds of other chatting sites.

The main point is to \(study\). Some people aren't spending their time wisely with going to the chats and chat for hours on end without concentrating on their school work as this site intended.

Since someone said it's the social sciences chat... I've been in there before, always happens. And with the same people. They say they are going to kill themselves, and then other people in the chat are like if you kill yourself, I'm killing my self. Just a bunch of emotional drama. Happens like every week or wvery other week, yet they are still alive and return to OS... .-.

@TheSmartOne I know. I used to reside there but I just grabbed a bunch of my closest friends and fled to another chatroom. Its not necessarily the room that is the problem but the people in it.
