Nearly everyone old enough knows what it means! After all, the event is a crucial part of American history. The act of the bombing was a political move, one intended to prevent the United States from interfering in Japanese advancement and subsequent takeover of neighboring Asiatic countries (i.e. China, Mongolia, Manchuria).Though only partially successful - the attack was aimed at destroying U.S. aircraft carriers, which were fortunately not present at the time - it still begs the question: Could the attack have been prevented?
