You have a rope that is 129.25 inches long. You cut off 6 pieces from the rope. Each piece is 18.5 inches long. How long is the rope after you cut off the 6 pieces?

OpenStudy (cobaltthunder267):

To calculate this, it's a matter of simple math and common sense. :) Take your pieces of rope, each 18.5 inches long. Take this and multiply it by 6. \[18.5 \times 6 = 111\]Then, all we have to do is subtract 111 from 129.25 \[129.25 - 111 = 18.25\]
