imagine that you are a citizen of a country in which a larger country comes in to expand its social, political, and economic policies as the United States has done in Latin America.

Write a paragraph telling how this might make you feel, both the positives and the negatives. Be sure to refer to details from this lesson as you express your opinion.

Talk about how you'd feel as though you were being robbed of your country's independence. You'd feel like they've taken power away from you. You would worry about the policies they would make and how they would affect your everyday life. You would be fearful of the policies that would come into play, such as policies that would affect the economy of your country. Talk about the negative or positive affects of policies that would change the way the economy is run (i.e. maybe giving the government full power over wages). Talk about political changes you fear would negatively impact your country, like a change in power or completely abolishing the government you have to replace it with a dictatorship. Things like that.
