OpenStudy (znappydooz):

@SolomonZelman, could you help please?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the equation of a circle centre (a,b) with radius r is (x-a)^2+(y-b)2 = r^2 you know a, b and r from the question - so plug them into that equation for the answer

OpenStudy (mrnood):

no - the answer will still have x and y in it the values of a and b are the centre of thecircle (th e5^2 bit IS correct) (x- xcentre)^ 2 (y- ycentre)^2 = 5^2

OpenStudy (mrnood):

Opposite pairs of angles in the inscribed quadrilateral add up to 180 so use the pair that you DO know to work out x then use that value of x in the OTHER pair of angles to calculate the missing angle

OpenStudy (znappydooz):

I'm still confused in the second one...

OpenStudy (mrnood):

you know the 2 expressions for the angle at O and Q (in terms of x so add them together - you will then have an equation blah x blah + something = 180 this is a simple linear equaiotn in x - so you can get the vaule for x I made a mistake above - ROP is the answer once you have x you know ROP = x+17
