We are given that the length of arc BD = length BC. Let AB=r Area of sector ABD = [(BD)/(2πr)]*(πr^2)=[(BD)*r]/2. Area of triangle ABC=[(BC)*r]/2, but BD= BC, so area of triangle ABC=[(BD)*r]/2.
