i dont get it.. these are lines and how lines can be congruent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Congruent means they are the same shape and size but either have been moved around or reflected If it has been resized then they are not congruent. Now how can it be resized? It can be resized by multiplying it by some factor So for example x --> 2x Now each x gets stretched by a factor of 2 So which option does not include resizing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See if it has been moved over 7 units ... its still teh same shape just been moved a lil bit to the right So x --> x+7 is an example of this. Its the same shape just been moved over a couple of units

Now there is something known as reflecting That means its the same shape but just been flippped over across the y or x-axis So the shape does not change x-->-x So all the x values now become -x vales. The shape stays the same but just been reflected
