What would be the strongest evidence to use in support of the argument that all individuals between the ages of 13 and 64 should be tested for HIV? Early detection can help the long-term health of a person infected with HIV. My friend was afraid to get an HIV test, so testing of all people would help lessen that fear. Widespread testing is not necessary, because HIV rates have steadied in recent years. More than 250,000 HIV-positive Americans are unaware of their infection (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
