think about the number line, on a scale to left to right. negatives, to zero, to positives.
as you go left to right, its getting more positive as you progress. going left you're getting more negative. that makes sense right? just picture that, it makes sense.
now, ask yourself this question: between negative four, and negative nine, which one is more positive? obviously neither are positive, they're negative, but by positive i mean that they're bigger in quantity.
like a person who scored -4 on a game has a higher score than someone with a score of -9. -4 is greater than -9, so what does that mean?
