why is there coc if no one really reads it?
To set the rules of open study and people will eventually read it
i don't think they do
1) You already checked off when you signed up for the site that you have read the T&C and the CoC along with the PrivPolicy so this shouldnt be an issue 2) If you chose not to read it, it is your loss, because when you get in trouble you suffer the consequences
I've read it
i meant they read it but they don't follow the rules
then they suffer the cosequences.
Many people don't bother to read it all but they definitely should read it before they get into trouble.
Ya but when u explain your answers as to why there wrong, someone usually says "oh your violating COC, this could count as a direct answer" Then should ppl stop taking there time to explain it when they only have to write a letter instead?
like this: Hmm... Either B or D because A doesn't make sense, you could get easily confused with the s's. Same with C because with the word "an" there it could easily confuse the reader
Hmm?
well because some people do read it . and with no coc then that means that there are no rule's to follow.
To be honest, I only skimmed through it when I first signed up which resulted in me getting warned by a moderator by breaking the rules. Not the best experience at the time, but it changed my views to the better. So, the CoC is placed for people to look at. It's like a rule book that every school has. If there were no rules to a school and sites, then there would be chaos in its stead.
Hi there, I am no one. Therefore substituting that back into your question: why is there coc if no one really reads it? It becomes: why is there coc if TheSmartOne really reads it? It is there because without rules there will be a lot of chaos, there would be no reason for moderators. People could ask whatever they wanted, they could spam the site, and that is something you don't want.
Did you read your national or state constitution? Did you read your federal and state laws? No? Then why do they exist? See, it is for the same reason. Read or not, all orgnaized systems have a set of rules that are psoted. If they do not do so then it is hard to know when people break the rules.
Well, you are supposed to read the CoC and the Terms before you sign up for OS. This tells you the rules here. Though, we cannot tell whether you have really read it or not. Also, the condition part of your question is not true. I, for one, have really read it. It serves as a reference for me to take actions on users if they break the rules.
