an institution for educating children.

And that is exactly OpenStudy's purpose. When you ask a question, you are the student. And when you help someone else with their question, you have become the teacher. You may not always get the same teacher all the time, but there will always be someone ready to teach you on OpenStudy. :)

Although OpenStudy is somewhat like a school, we do not have any set of courses. We did have some courses that you could have done and gotten a certificate from OpenStudy, but that has been discontinued.
