i know some people may think this is stupid but what if we had a hobby topic, like everyone can explain to everyone else what they like to do besides school

Mehek (mehek14):

That's why there are chats

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

Its not stupid c: its been suggested :) being an athlete i like this :)

OpenStudy (kidrah69):

However what kind of studying would we do? How would people ask questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah it could be a good idea :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like for example. i like cars. what if there was something i didnt know how to do but someone else did? yeah yeah there is websites for that but it would help multiple people out

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

This has been discussed many times, even with admins, and the entire reason they have refused is simple: The topics on the site, questions in them, and replies all need to be directly related to formal education.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know...you would have to talk to the admins about this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick @Thesmarterone the thing is that i have taken a class that taught me how to work on a vehicle, we even got hands on experience too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I don't think that they would just want one topic hm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the topic could be named "Vehicles" so that way its a general view of cars or trucks

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yes, an if there was enough demand for an Autmotive section, there would be one. But the questions in it would need to be on Auomotives as a topic of traditional study and not comments on cars, sound systems, and other things. This is exactly why 90% of the Music posts get deleted and why Music has been close to being removed a number of times. People post about the music they like, songs they wrote and do not want a real review of, and to claim they wrote songs that are actually by someone else. Chances are that automotive would be a similar mess and frankly, we do not need that. A hobby or random or misc section would be even worse.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I agree with @e.mccormick it would be a riot kind of like music...but good thinking ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@e.mccormick i see what your getting at now, people would use it to "show off, bash, etc" vs questions

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Sadly, yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

another thing with automotive is that people will eventually want to see what everyone has out there, be able to get ideas and try new things, etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and get unearned medals.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i understand the medals part as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea It would be a bad choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but even then. couldnt there be a way to not give medals? like just that topic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with this whole idea, but it can be related to education like P.E. (any athletics) or electives (art, that car stuff, etc..)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly. i took a course at high school for collision repair, you could take like automotive, computer, emt training, fire fighting. etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just wish people wouldn't take advantage, you asked for a music section, you got it, and almost ruined it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly. there has been times working on vehicles that im just like "uuuhhhhh... what do i do?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And sometimes when you ask that question to yourself, you sometimes have to look it up. But you have to go through a long paragraph, so it would be easier. The only problem is not a lot of ppl would respond, or in the greatest amount of time. And they might say the wrong thing, and you mess up lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

very true ^^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea i asked for an automotive section a while back but nobody ever really said much
