umm why am i get nonstop warnings ?
i am not doing anything i just keep getting a werid waring
Well if you read the warnings it tells you why you are getting the warning.
Can you scrnshot it?
Not until she gets another warning which i hope you dont get.
Bohotness, is it about you evading suspension?
She has made numerous accounts and has gotten ban/suspended on them, as well as false reporting people...
Look, She apologized for what she has done (whatever she did is none of your business) it seems OS does not check the abuse reports email so as long as she behaves that shouldn't be an issue
I'm just saying -_-
i am just saying too :P
You can say all you want then :P we all have opinions
:)
(:
Finally, if you do make a mistake, please be respectful to the moderators. Moderators are the users whose names are in purple. If you go outside the code of conduct, one of them will likely contact you. If they do, listen to what they have to say and be polite. If you are issued a temporary suspension because of a Code of Conduct violation, just wait until your suspension is expired. Go read a book, throw a football, unwind, and come back when the suspension is over. If you create new accounts to bypass a suspension, you will be permanently banned from the site. No questions asked. If you are permanently banned, or you feel you did not deserve a suspension that you were issued, feel free to email abuse@openstudy.com to discuss your suspension with one of the OpenStudy team members. http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You can get your computer banned for evading suspension. "If you create new accounts to bypass a suspension, you will be permanently banned from the site. No questions asked." You can email abuse@openstudy.com if you think you did not deserve a warning or suspension. You can actually read the reason why you were warned or suspended. And you can and should change your actions to not violate the code of conduct and to prevent yourself from getting more warnings or suspensions.
I looked up the warnings. There were two, so not all the time. One was for roll play, which since this is not an RP site is undestanble, and the other was for language use which covers a wide range of things. Swearing, sex, drugs, and a number of topics like those are simply unwanted on the site. Any of them can get language related warnings and suspensions.
It is also possible that at the time a moderator issued you a warning, the system was lagging and hence, displayed the same message many times.
Very good point. Lag causes repetition of notifications of all types, including warn/suspend notices.
@e.mccormick people roleplay in social science sometimes and if it is wrong why isnt it in the CoC?
In the Terms, which you agreed to when you first signed up on OpenStudy, it states the following: You agree not to use the Service or the Site to: impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent yourself, your age or your affiliation with any person or entity I suppose when you do role play, you will, at least, misrepresent yourself, which is against the Terms and hence "wrong". There are many details in the Terms which are not included in the Code of Conduct, but that does not mean that you need not follow the rules in the Terms. I would say the Code of Conduct is like an abstract of the Terms and you cannot expect everything will be included in an abstract.
And to add to what Cali said, if you look at the CoC there are examples. That does not mean they are the be all to end all of things it covers. The site is for education. It says not to spam it. From the strictest standpoint, anything that is not linked to a traditional educational system is spam. There is some leeway in the chats, but when people come and never ask or answer questions and simply live in the chats, they are becoming more and more spam. Things like that should not need to be spelled out word for word. Instead, the intent of the site should be enough.
