two molecular processes in steroid and peptide action Please guyz, what exactly are the molecular processes in steroid and peptide action? Thanks in advance for your time.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

I'm guessing the two processes are the hormones acting on receptors on the outer surface of the membrane triggering signal cascades within the cell, and those where hormones can diffuse through the membrane into the cell, triggering the effects themselves?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

this is a good visualization of what would be happening http://www.wiley.com/legacy/college/boyer/0470003790/animations/signal_transduction/signal_transduction.htm

Thanks for your input, it could well be right, that's the only thing I have read so far. Great stuff, thank you for the link.

OpenStudy (aaronq):
