What are the advantages and disadvantages of hormone-based contraceptive methods such as birth control pills, implants, and a patch?

birth control pills are sometimes hard to remember to take and sometimes can make you gain weight but you can just stop taking it whenever and implants you have to have taken out i think idk much about the patch

The pills, implants, and patch can be very effective if used correctly.
Birth control pills are hard to remember to take. You should take it everyday at the same time, or it becomes ineffective. Some pills have a rollover time, meaning you can take it within one to two hours of the regular times you should be taking it and it will still be effective, but not as effective. If you miss a pill continue to take your next pills at their regular times and use condoms for two weeks.
The implant (nexplanon or implanon) is a progesterone based birth control. You go in for a 15 minute procedure. The numb your arm with a local anesthetic then they inject another anesthetic into the vein. Then with a larger gauged needle a tiny bar is injected into the arm. The implant last for three years. Most people report having a very long period at first but then having no period later on until it is removed. To get it removed you will be injected with an anesthetic and then a small incision will be made in your arm. Then they will pull the bar out with tiny tweezers.
The patch is similar to the pill. You use one watch for a 7 day period, and then no patch on the fourth week for your period. You have to switch your patch out every week at the same time or it becomes ineffective. it can be annoying because the patch can get dirty and it starts to peel on the edges a little bit.
