Find measure of the arc AB

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1431822287719:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Angles ADB and ACB both intercept Arc AB, so they are equal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7z - 4 = 5z + 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep I thought that so I got z = 185

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then the arc AB would be 1/2 of the angle measurement?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got z = 12. Can you show what you did?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

opps z = 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I accidentally used 50 instead of 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then plug the z into either one of the expressions to find the angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and multiply the angle by 2 to find Arc AB

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so I got the angles are both 80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's what I got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh the formula to find the arc is 80 = 1/2 x so you multiply by 2? I was thinking divide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the arc is 160

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

Thanks!!
