Help with a thesis about Australian Identity for the novel Cloudstreet? I want to talk about how Australians are viewed as egalitarian, "Aussie battlers" ie. hard-working, loving nature, valuing family etc. I just don't know how to word it. Thanks :)

I was thinking something like: Authors often present a set of beliefs held by a group in society to comment on the representations of people and cultural context of the era. Tim Winton's Cloudstreet presents the ideology of Western society that all Australians fit a certain stereotype, namely "The Aussie Battler." Most Australian's are represented as fitting this archetype; they are believed to be lovers of the land, egalitarian, tough and hard-working, and strongly valuing family. ?
