Find the sum: (5x / 7x - y) + (4 / y - 7x)

OpenStudy (drewbooks):

OpenStudy (drewbooks):

How would you do that in this situation?

OpenStudy (er.mohd.amir):

take common out that is (7x-y) and other make y-7x as -(7x-y)

OpenStudy (drewbooks):

Alright, I'm with you so far. How would I translate that into one of the answer choices?

OpenStudy (drewbooks):

I'm lost, it seems like those answers can't be right.

OpenStudy (er.mohd.amir):

sorry typo mistake 5x/(7x-y) - 4/(7x-y) ={1/(7x-y) } * (5x-4) =(5x-4) /(7x-y)

OpenStudy (drewbooks):

Ah, okay, that makes much more sense haha. Thank you.
