I believe they are referring to the readings labeled NOTES: http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01-single-variable-calculus-fall-2006/readings/course-reader/ (from the 18.01 course). For the questions you posted 2A Approximation you want the notes, section A (4th down)... i.e. http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01-single-variable-calculus-fall-2006/readings/a_approximations.pdf
