2 letters followed by 3 digits... Find how many license plates can be made if a. letters and numbers can be repeated b. they cannot be repeated

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Permutation I believe this is....

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

So if it can be repeated, would that be (26^2)(9^3)

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

@Nnesha

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

@rational

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

Actually it is (26^2)(10^3) as there are 10 digits in decimal, i.e. 0, 1, 2, 3, ..., 8, 9.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Okay, so the one without repetitions would be 10p3 times 26p2?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

@thomas5267

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

That sounds right to me.

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

so i can use this formula if I didn't have a calculator right?

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

Yes it would be possible.
