Find the lateral and surface area. Can anyone plz help??
Pic
@triciaal can you help with this?
@Nnesha
don't like these 3D need to use pythagorean theorem
the base is a hexagon of side 4 agree?
Yes
for each of 6 "triangle face "area = 1/2 * base * perpendicular height
So 12•4•6•1/2?
Theorem 12.4 The surface Area of a Regular Pyramid is S = B + 1/2 Pl. where B is the area of the base, P is the perimeter of the base and l is the slant height.
What does 12.4 mean?
I did puthagorean theorem and i got 12.6
Theorem 12.4 from a text (like the name of process)
Ohok but do you do puthagorean first? I did and got 12.6 what do you do next
@jim_thompson5910 can you please help me clean this up?
@mathstudent55 help?
@dan815
You dont have any idea how to do this or you don't know how to explain this to me?
I have a problem explaining it clearly
But just tell me how many formula and whcih one to use cause i need to turn this in tomorrow its for extra credit for my class
well I gave you the formula straight from the text I am not the expert I tried to help and even tried to get extra help for clarification sorry if that's not enough
I needed help for lateral area firat but you gave formula for surface area. So i looked up a formula for lateral atea of. Hexagonal pyramid but the formula asks for base edge so how do you find base edge?
Nvm i found the lateral area and surface area thx anyways
I gave the lateral area = I said each face is a triangle and you have 6 The area of each is 1/2 bl where b is the length of the side and l is the slant height
Whats the formula for surface area of hexagonal pyramid
S = B + 1/2 Pl
L is the slant height right and what is p?
perimeter
perimeter of the base = 6 b
Ok hold on
I got 40 when i did 4+1/2(6)(12) is it correct? @triciaal
no B = base area b= length of side
Base area is 144
Ok so the answer would be 144+24squareroot3??
