Help with parametric equations

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Rewrite the set of parametric equations x = 2t and y = |t − 2| into a single rectangular equation.

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

1/2=t

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

y=|1/2x-2|

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

@rational How would you work this out of an absolute value? would you square it?

OpenStudy (rational):

Looks good!

OpenStudy (rational):

\[y=\left|\frac{x}{2}-2\right|\]

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Egh the the answers are confusing me :S y=|x-4| y=1/2(x-4) y=1/2|x-4| y=(x-4) Would this be C?

OpenStudy (rational):

C is right! they have just pulled out 1/2
