Help with Parametric equations

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

The set of parametric equations x = t2 and y = 3t + 2 when graphed will produce a parabola. @rational would this be false because the equation would be : y=3sqrtx + 2 and the shape i get is like this: |dw:1431965958813:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

I think false :p as stated above

hartnn (hartnn):

when \(\Large x =t^2 \\ \Large t = \pm x\)

hartnn (hartnn):

so you actually get a plot like this : |dw:1431967252378:dw| which is a parabola.
