Will Medle!! Name and describe the four main components of blood. What antigens and antibodies determine blood type?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@pinkcandyrosez882 @HazelLuv99

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

four main components I believe are: red cells, white cells, platelets, and plasma.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay and do you know the answer to the second question?

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

Just a second..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Blood!!!! 💉It has four main components: plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Blood has many different functions, including: transporting oxygen and nutrients to the lungs and tissues. forming blood clots to prevent excess blood loss.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Than present surface antigens show the blood type the present antibodies show which blood types the person can not receive in the need of a blood transfusion

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

If you belong to the blood group B, you have B antigens on the surface of your red blood cells and A antibodies in your blood plasma. If you belong to the blood group AB, you have both A and B antigens on the surface of your red blood cells and no A or B antibodies at all in your blood plasma. www.nobelprize.org/educational/medicine/.../readmore.html (I googled it and found it)

Thank you @pinkcandyrosez882

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rh antigens determine positive or negative and the surface antigens are like little flags that show the letter

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

@mollydolly56 I think you're right :)

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

and yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, thanks Molly.

I took anatomy my freshman year of college and am now studying to be a nurse. I'd like to think I'm right as well 😂😁

OpenStudy (pinkcandyrosez882):

I'm sure you are! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Me too I'm studying to be a nurse and taking high school at the same time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a great way to do it! If you're looking for something to make you stand out to nursing programs, you could ask your local technical college if they offer a CNA certified nursing assistant program. It will help lots!!!
