Which climate is warm, wet, and located on the edges of the tropics? A.temperate marine B.highlands C.temperate continental D.polar

OpenStudy (zairahernandez):

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks um how do you medal someone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A, B, and D are all wrong. lol this is more of common sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ha ha ha that was rude

OpenStudy (zairahernandez):

just press best responds lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok that is what i thought but was just shecking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

checking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol sorry, didnt mean to come off as rude

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it k anyway i have another question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which statement best explains why tropical climates are so hot A.They receive little rain. B.They receive more direct sunlight than other regions. C.They lack vegetation. D.There are more hours of sunlight in tropical areas than other regions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zairahernadez

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jpaulkai

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here's a hint: Its pretty sunny in the tropical regions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm so A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B and D are the only options that involve sunlight, can you explain why you chose A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

little rain i am not good in this type of stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its alright, just tell me, which seems to be correct: B or D and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm i think that it would be B because if it is always hot there there has to be direct sunlight right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats right, the more north or south of the equator you go, the more sunlight (depending on the time of the year) you will get, making D wrong. The only reasonable answer would be B :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks i have two more is that okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which two major factors are typically used to classify climates A.precipitation and altitude B.temperature and air pressure C.temperature and precipitation D.air pressure and humidity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so if air pressure was used to classify a region then almost all regions would be the same so B and D are wrong. Altitude also cannot be used because it can snow at sea level and at mountain tops so A is also not a candidate for the correct answer. That leaves C and it turns out that that is the correct answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow ok thanks next one and the last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay go ahead

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following is an adaptation of an animal that lives in an area with a polar climate A.thin, long legs B.thick, insulating fur C.colorful feathers D.moist, slimy body

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about Polar Bears when deciding on an answer - I'll help you out on the first one: They do not have thin, long legs (A is wrong).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i think i got this it would be B because of the thick fur

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct, all other answers just wouldn't make sense when compared to animals in a polar climate. B makes the most sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks your a great help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Glad to help :)
