Find the indicated limit, if it exists.
Please, I'm so frustrated with these kind of problems. Can someone please better explain in than my lesson did?
the overall limit exists if both left and right limits exist and are equal
the left part(x<9) of the function is x+9 plugin x = 9, what do you get ?
18!
Yes, the right part(x>=9) of the function is 27-x plugin x=9, what do you get ?
18 again :)
so both left and right limits exist and are equal to 18
that means the overall limit exists and equals 18
So basically, I am using the given function and plugging in the left and right limits?
And solving to see if they are equal?
Yes thats pretty much it
May I ask for your help on one more of these kind of problems?
HAHAHA thank you for lightening up the mood, I'm so frustrated with math right now I needed that
you're doing good :)
I have 8 selected, but I don't think its right
yes its not right
start by finding the left limit plugin x=1 in 1-x what do u get ?
0, and then for the right limit I would get 8 correct?
yes! left limit = 0 right limit = 8 they don't agree, so the overall limit DOESN'T EXIST
oh my goodness thats IT?
Ahh all the signs made it seem so complicated
Yes thats it!
Thank you so much, if only my lessons made sense like you haha I really appreciate it :)
np :)
