OpenStudy (kkbrookly):

Change r=3costheta-2sintheta to rectangular form

OpenStudy (kkbrookly):

@dan815 @freckles @SyedMohammed98 @kidrah69 @welshfella

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

cos theta = x/r; sin theta = y/r r^2 = x^2 + y^2 just go at it that way...and you will come out the other end.

OpenStudy (kkbrookly):

So I do 3^2-2^2? @IrishBoy123

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

?? you could start r = 3x/r - 2y/r and then cross multiply by r, recognising that r^2 = x^2 + y^2 then complete some squares

OpenStudy (kkbrookly):

So I plug it in? r^2=3x/r^2-2y/2^2? I'm sorry. I'm really confused

OpenStudy (kkbrookly):

@IrishBoy123

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

r=3 (x/r)-2(y/r) r^2 = 3x - 2y x^2 + y^ 2 = 3x - 2y complete squares
