Who invented the first computer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first 'computer', per se, was invented by Charles Babbage in the 1820s. The "Difference Engine", as it was called, was a mechanical computer which aided navigational calculations. The first computer programmer was Ada Lovelace, who, around the 1840s, worked on Babbage's Engine.
