A germ cell of an organism has 60 chromosomes in it. It undergoes meiosis, and at the end it produces four daughter cells. What is the number of chromosomes in each of these daughter cells?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The point of meiosis is to make haploid cells from diploid cells to make gametes (eggs and sperm). Each gamete will have half the number of chromosomes as the germ cell that you start with.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each of the 4 haploid cells will have 30 chromosomes, half of the "parent" cell
