how do yo find the distance between two given points on a graph

OpenStudy (shelby1290):

are you trying to find a formula?

OpenStudy (shelby1290):

If so, i think you're talking about the midpoint formula

geerky42 (geerky42):

Midpoint formula is just formula to find point that is in exactly middle between two points. What we are looking for is distance formula: \[d = \sqrt{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}\] Using points \((x_1,y_1)\) and \((x_2,y_2)\).

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You mean the distance formula.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the distance formula
