@TheSmartOne @mrbaconqwerty

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Do you know how to do this, or are you checking an answer?

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

i have no idea how to do this so can you please explain how to do it . please?

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Ill try my best. let me figure it out first, and i will help you once i know that i can do it :P

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

ok.

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

ok, i think ive got this! You know what order of operations are, right?

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

yes do perenthases first then mutiply and or divid then do adding and or subtracting.

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Yeah! so, if multiplying comes before subtracting, than we need to multiply 3/7 by 7/8. Do you know how to multiply fractions? If you do, type in your answer and if you dont, i can help you. Its really easy :)

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

24/49 ?

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

i dont think so. try again

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

3/8

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Good job! now we need to do 1/4-3/8.

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Do you need help?

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

yes please

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Do you know how to subtract fractions, or should i show you?

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

can you show me .

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

like Ive said in the past Im terrible with fraction's

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Dont worry! Im not amazing with fractions either. This is about the only thing i know how to do with them! :) Ok, so when we subtract fractions, they need to have the same denominator. So we need to figure out how we can get 3/8 and 1/4 to have the same bottom number. Do you know how to do this part?

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

yep give me a second

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

we can change 1/4 to 2/8

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Yeah! You are doing a good job! Now we need to subtract 2/8-3/8. (Hint: your answer will be a negative number)

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

We can do that by subtracting 2-3, for the top number. The bottom will stay the same, so dont subtract that! :)

OpenStudy (lcnettech):

-1/8

OpenStudy (mrbaconqwerty):

Yay! You got it! Nice job! If you ever need help again, fell free to tag me, and ill try my best :)
