America continues to struggle with poverty, and continues to fight it by using a failed method - throwing money at the situation. 

America has a very high unemployment rate with 92,000,000 people over the age of 16 out of work, according to the bureau of labor statistics. 

Corporations and other private businesses continue to out source their locations and jobs due to high taxation and heavy regulations. 

Individual rights are slowly but surely eroding (Especially since the GWOT began). 

We continue to struggle with a very high incarceration rate due to the global war on drugs.

I can literally not think of any examples to answer your question. America is worse off economically than it has been in the past. 

I would probably just ramble about how we have become more tolerant to LGBT+ individuals, and blacks.
