OpenStudy (welshfella):

replace r in the first equation by 47-7w:- -9(47+7w) + 11w = -111 -423- 63w + 11w = -111 can you continue from here , to find the value of w?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No :/

OpenStudy (welshfella):

first add 423 to both sides of the equation;- -423- 63w + 11w = -111 +423 + 423 what does that give us?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

w=-6

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the 423 disappears from the left side and we need to work out -111+423 on the right side

OpenStudy (welshfella):

and you said you couldn't do it ? correct w = -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL sorry XD

OpenStudy (welshfella):

now plug w = -6 into the original equation , say r = 47 + 7w to get the value of r.
