In the figure shown, what is the measure of angle x? Triangle ABC has measure of angle BAC equal to 30 degrees and the measure of angle ABC is equal to 75 degrees. The side BC of the triangle is extended till D. The angle ACD is labeled as x. 150 degrees 110 degrees 105 degrees 100 degrees

@jprose

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first of all do you know how many degrees are in a triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya 90

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no there are 180, 90 degrees is a right angle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what is 30+75

OpenStudy (anonymous):

105

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u get those numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh never mind i found them lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright good and i got those because they are the two angle measurements that you know inside the triangle so now you subtract 105 from 180 because there are 180 degrees in a triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank u so much could u help me with a couple more because i realy need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know the answer it isnt 180-105 which is 75 u subtract 75 from 180 and get 105 so c is the answer and sure ill help u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya did and thank u ok

A cone shaped hat is shown: A cone is shown with slant height 14 cm and radius 6.2 cm. The unknown height is labeled with a question mark, and the line joining the tip of the cone to the base is perpendicular to the base. What is the approximate height of the hat? 2.79 centimeters, because height = Square root of the difference of 14 and 6.2 4.49 centimeters, because height = Square root of the sum of 14 and 6.2 12.55 centimeters, because height = Square root of the difference of squares of 14 and 6.2 15.31 centimeters, because height = Square root of the sum of the squares of 14 and 6.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did get that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you use the Pythagorean theorem A^2+B^2=C^2 so you know A and c so you actually do C^2-A^2=B^2 so you just plug in the numbers 14^2-6.2^2=B^2 196-38.44=157.56 \[\sqrt{157.56}=\] 12.55

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i see

The graph of a function is shown: A coordinate grid is shown from negative 5 to 5 on both axes at increments of 1. A graph shows three straight lines. The first straight line joins ordered pair negative 3, negative 2 with negative 2, 2. The second straight line joins ordered pair negative 2, 2 with 2, 2. The third straight line joins ordered pair 2, 2 with 4, 0. The ordered pair negative 3, negative 2 is labeled as A, the ordered pair negative 2.5, 0 is labeled as B, the ordered pair negative 2, 2 is labeled as C, the ordered pair 2, 2 is labeled as D, and the ordered pair 4, 0 is labeled as E. In which interval is the graph constant? AB BC CD DE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which two points do not change over time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DandE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

DE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no those are decreasing CD are constant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how

A cylindrical well is 20 meters deep and has a diameter of 1.5 meters. Approximately how many cubic meters of soil were dug out to make the well? (Use π = 3.14.) 11.78 cubic meters 35.33 cubic meters 121.20 cubic meters 141.30 cubic meters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because they do not change over time they are a constant y=2 and it would be d because you use the equation V=πr^2h

Orio and Ted buy an equal number of comic books every month. The following equation shows the number of comic books, y, that Orio has after x months: y = 2x + 15 The following graph shows the number of comic books, y, that Ted has after x months: Graph shows Months on x axis and Number of Comic Books on y axis. The scale on x axis is shown from 0 to 5 at increments of 1. The scale on y axis is shown from 0 to 14 at increments of 2. The title of the graph is Teds Comic Books. A straight line is shown which joins the ordered pair 0, 6 and 4, 14 After 2 months, how many more comic books does Orio have than Ted? 1 2 4 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1432141751676:dw| at 4 months ted has 14 and orio has 23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i subbtract that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 9
