can someone please help me on page 403 of chapter 6 task 1 2 and 3 i got (a) done on task 1 http://ocas.pearsonschool.com/ph/cd/0-13-365946-8/?token=53616c7465645f5f81d8086b402612535c05bb36548c352efd4d42aa1f0bb0bdac910c59b0106743211d5f73e68757a01aa7c21cd8986203d225aa23afe42a72ef07f866009a4e4b

OpenStudy (britanyashton):

For task one, you just gotta solve each of these (a-c) with different methods. at the top of the page they tell you which methods there are: graphing, and substitutions. you have all those methods in the lessons leading up to this portfolio too. for task two, they give you the p of the left triangle. the perimeter of a triangle. this is an isoscles triangle, so y's are both equal... its x+y^2=14 .. they give the perimeter of the triangle on the right, 21.... sooo (5/4y)^2 + 3x=21 it's understood that the values for x and y are the same for each, i think you're able to solve for x and y through substitution... then once u find one value plug it in for the other, and solve for the other unknown value. (use algebra if that made abs no sense. for instance use the tri on the right to find y and plug it in to the equation for the tri on the left to find x. make sense?

OpenStudy (bmxlifestyle):

but what is the answer for task 1

OpenStudy (britanyashton):

what u got u can check by plugging it into an graphing calc and see where the equations intersect.
