What is the solution to the linear system of equations? x – y = 4 8x + 2y = 2 A. (4, 0) B. (1, –3) C. (1, 3) D. The system has no solution. http://lv.k12.com/mediaFiles/Ninth_Grade/Math/Unit17526/Lesson68681/VHS_PA_S2_02_L312_Q5.gif
ok first you need to get the equations into slope intercept form
ok
then you need to graph those equations
k
after that you find the point were the two lines intersect
All u really have to do is plug in the answer choices into both equations to get the equations and check them
if you wait one sec i will do the math real quick and get you your answer
yes i like doing it this way though
But wouldn't it be easier and less work to just plug it in and check them
yeah but this it more fun this way for me at least
what do u plug in?
U plug in the answer choices into the equations and check for each one to be right
ok......what numbers do i plug in? @Thackery @pizza12
Solve by substitution x – y = 4 ----> x = y + 4 8x + 2y = 2 Plug in (y + 4) for x in the second equation.
Like this... 8(y + 4) + 2y = 2 8y + 32 + 2y = 2 Now add like terms and just solve for y.
i passed thanks
