Suggestion: Put a filter on the usernames. Its disturbing to see people making inappropriate usernames .
Refrain from posting any examples please, im sure you have all seen it.We do not need examples.

yes, and it is especially not appropriate because we do (unfortunately) have kids under the age of 13 on the site. We can't have kids seeing those things, and the pictures is another example, kids are blabber mouths, and they will tell their parents ANYTHING especially like what does this mean "a curse word" and it was a users name. NOT COOL. this gives a bad name to Openstudy, and I agree with you 100% percent @kidrah69

On Club Penguin, whenever you make an account your username has to be checked or something and until your parent/you checks his/her email to confirm the email address and whatnot, the username remains as a bunch of random numbers. Maybe this could work for OpenStudy too. Like until the usernames are checked to be appropriate, they could be written as "Owl123789456" or "OpenStudier147", you know? :)

For now, if you see someone with an inappropriate username, the best thing to do is to report them. Unfortunately, yesterday I saw a user with a very offensive username. I just tagged every moderator online, and reported that user several times. It's so disturbing that people would actually use profanity and offensive terms in their OpenStudy usernames.

The thing is that you can't delete the user account. So we are forever stuck with that username. The profile picture can be removed if the admins go in to the database and remove it ,-,
