SORT of easy trig problem?? PLEASE?☟^◕‿◕^ If sin Θ = 15 over 17, use the Pythagorean Identity to find cos Θ.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here are the possible answers:

OpenStudy (er.mohd.amir):

hypotenuse =17 perpendicular =15 base =8 cos x =base/hypotenuse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Doesn't that only work with triangles? SOrry I am clueless about trig lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My openstudy is glitching rn so sorry for slow replies..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nechirwan Can you do this?

OpenStudy (er.mohd.amir):

sin x=perpendicular/hypotenuse

OpenStudy (er.mohd.amir):

in right triangle hypotenuse^2=base^2+perpendicular^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@undeadknight26 @Here_to_Help15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO how do I apply that?

OpenStudy (er.mohd.amir):

with sin x find perpendicular and hypotenuse then find base

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 15^2+8^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K give me a sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hypotenuse would be 17?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then 8/17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh

Thankyou!
