Distances in space are measured in light-years. The distance from Earth to a star is 6.8 × 1013 kilometers. What is the distance, in light-years, from Earth to the star (1 light-year = 9.46 × 1012 kilometers)? 2.66 light-years 7.18 light-years 7.74 light-years 9.46 light-years

@GeniousCreation could u help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hold on, I'll be right on. I almost done helping someone else. I'll be on this problem really soon okay?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@GeniousCreation this is a timed thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. I'm helping now. However, if you're saying it's timed on here, it's not. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh cause there was a number on the side counting down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, that's just saying how long until you can bump it up.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh lol blonds could u help with the math i dont understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure. hold on. I'm trying to figure this out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. So first (1 light-year=9573.52 kilometers).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now. the distance in KILOMETERS from Earth to star is 6888.4 kl.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, subtract 6888.40 from 9573.52 which is: 1 whole light year!!! Then there's the remaining 2685.12 kl.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer would be A! or the first one! :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. I have to go. Bye!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank thank@Genious
