This is the final exam season, users are getting help on their tests. Some are getting people to check their answers, while others are just posting their questions and getting help. And others are asking if people have taken it yet, asking people for the answers, what not.

That's the thing, I've helped some of them with their questions, and then I got suspicious so I asked them real nicely and they admitted it was a test. I report them, 20 minutes later user is still asking questions. >_>

And these users are rather gullible to, I message them "Are you taking a test? :D"

And that smiley face makes me seem on their side, and bam they open up and they are busted.

And then I messaged a moderator that someone was cheating and told them to take a look at my previous reports. They responded saying that they gave them a warning. I mean cheating violates the Terms and Condions of OpenStudy. We have the OpenStudy anti-cheating policy. What happens to the user? After they got a warning, what did they do? They continues on asking their test questions and getting help.

personally I help anyone that needs help, but in such a way that they *have* to interact with me in order to get anything done. that way they learn, and as long as they learn than I don't really care if it is a "test" or not

We need both more normal moderators, and moderators from Connections Academy and FLVS and a lot of the major online school.

They should make the sign up page have more checkboxes...you know how they have tick marks that you have read the "terms" etc? They should add to that tbh.

Oh, and please don’t tell me to just report and ignore. I’ve done that. But there are too many people to report. And if I start messaging my favorite moderators about every rule breaker I see [only about cheating and underage users] then they’ll get tired.

Also, don’t need to tell me that moderators have their own lives. I know that. We need more moderators then. We don’t need the moderators we currently have to be on OS longer, that would be great, but having more moderators ensures that moderators get to reports faster and there are fewer loads on each moderator. You can do the math, if 2 moderators get an average of 100 reports while online, then if we have 4 moderators online during the same time, they only have to take care of 50 reports each.

I've been pretty busy with work lately. But I absolutely understand the community frustration towards people breaking the CoC with little to no consideration for the true purpose of OS.

Please, please send in detailed reports.
If possible, please send proof that a user is cheating on a test, like liable 100% proof.

If you see a user cheating on an CA exam or test, PERSONALLY MESSAGE the link to any of the available Connections Academy mods. They can handle it more thoroughly than moderators that are not affiliated with CA.

@EclipsedStar any type of proof that may be available. I get called to question threads a lot, with users they are claiming they are cheating on an exam, with no proof of such. I dont want to close any user's study question, but also dont want to leave test questions open.

I would like to suggest that from now on we should select MODs whom are regular to the site. I dont mean to say that the mods who are already choosen are not so regular. But really if we wont do something right now then it will become really difficult to handle the situation.

Otherwise instead of selecting mods we can give powers to the ambis who are regular :) . I see many ambis online and they can surely manage it. We have a lot of ambis. Lets use what we already have instead of asking what we don't.
