Please help, will medal and fan;)
What do you need help with Little Pickle pie?
Write your own real-world scenario where the Pythagorean Theorem can be applied to find a missing piece. You may choose to write a problem that is two- or three-dimensional in nature. Be sure that you will be able to draw a diagram of your scenario.
If you answer this, i will giive you medals evertime you help someone, just tag me ;)
Alright so, do you know what the Pythagorean Theorem is first of all, and how to any third side in a right angle triangle, given the other two sides?
No im exempt, that is why i need help lol.
@leon549
Okay so Ticklemepickle, do you know what a right triangle is?
Yes.
For the question, can you think of any real life example that contains a right triangle that we can work with?
hmmm one minute.
Sure
yeah
somone wants to buy a giant pen, but the auit case is to small, so they need to see if it will go in diagonaly,
suit case lol
Okay that's a good example. Let's use that.
ok
So first of all, let's assume we can measure the length and width of the suitcase, but not its diagonal space, sounds reasonable?
yes.
Okay. So say we've measured one side of the suitcase to be any value x, and the perpendicular side (the side next to it, or height) to be y. So we have one side being x (length), and the height (y). In order to find the diagonal space, we can imagine a line being drawn there, forming a triangle with x and y. This line is called the hypotenuse. Are you with me so far?
